If you’re like me you like to BUY AMERICAN!  A great new store is opening in Chesapeake that strives to provide as many American made items as possible.  It is called Past and Present.  Located at 232 N. Centerville Turnpike the store will be open on November 15. It is a great place to do some gift shopping for Christmas. The store will feature jewelry, beautiful pottery, candles, furniture and folk art. Please remember to support your community and buy from local businesses whenever possible.

Looking ahead to December be sure to put these things on your calendar:   “An evening with Patrick Henry” on Dec. 6 and the Battle of Great Bridge Reenactment on Dec. 7 & 8.  Take your kids and grandkids out for the re-enactment. They will love it! For information on these events call (757) 482-4480.

Some congratulations are in order. Kudos to the Chesapeake Rotary Club for putting on another very successful Wine Festival!  Even though it rained (for the third year in a row) the Wine Festival attracted more than 7,300 attendees and raised a bunch of money for local charities.
