Remember to mark your calendar and plan to attend this year’s Hampton Roads Leadership Prayer Breakfast.  It will be held at the Chesapeake Conference Center on Nov. 12, 2013.  This will be the first time in its distinguished 38 year history that the prayer breakfast will be held outside Norfolk.  Dr. Carlos Campo, the well-known president of Regent University will be the keynote speaker.  Let’s all come together and pray for our communities and our nation. For information or to buy tickets call Stephanie at  (757) 408-6608.

Another worthwhile event coming soon is the Freedom Run 9-11.The Run is held in memory of those who lost their lives in the events of September 11, 2001.  It will also honor our members of the United States Military and public safety who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as those who have served or are currently serving in the military and public safety profession.  Proceeds from this event will benefit Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office Charities, Inc., which offers aid to elderly and indigent victims of crime in Chesapeake and the Fisher House, which provides a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving care at a major military or VA medical center. The run will be held on September 14, 2013. Location is 1200 Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, Chesapeake. The Main Event begins at 8 a.m. and the kids run “Patriot Charge” starts at 10 am.

And finally, take some time in this last month of summer to enjoy your family, friends and loved ones.  Family and friends are really the most important things in our lives.  Nobody ever lay on their deathbed saying, “I wish I had spent more time at the office.”  Do something fun.  Life is short. Life is precious.  Make it count!
