Hallman Retires as City Attorney

cityAttorneyThe Citizen of Chesapeake recognizes Ron Hallman for his 44 years of exceptional service to the city.

On November 1, 1969, Ron was hired as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Chesapeake. He was promoted to Deputy City Attorney on July 1, 1975, and thereafter appointed as City Attorney by the Chesapeake City Council on July 1, 1978.  Hall served as President of the Chesapeake Bar Association in 1982, and represented the first district as a member of the State Bar Council for several terms. In recognition of Hall’s expertise, dedication and commitment, he received the coveted Local Government Attorneys of Virginia “Edward J. Finnegan Award for Distinguished Service” in 2009.
