One of the ads you’ll see in this month’s issue is for Chesapeake 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coins. The coins are beautiful and will certainly become valuable collector’s items. Buddy Cummings of GCS is donating $1 from the sale of each coin to Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan’s Children Today Leaders Tomorrow (CTLT) program.

A regular contributor to The Citizen, Dr. Will Langford is now hosting a new radio show, “Real Conviction” on WPMH 1010 AM.  The show airs from 4:00-4:30 p.m. Monday –Friday.  Be sure to tune in to this show.  Langford speaks with clarity and conviction and is not afraid to tackle the tough issues.

We are happy to feature several new columns in this month’s paper.  One will be from medical experts at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.  In this issue we hear from Dr.  Bruce Waldhout on how to prevent colorectal cancer.   Another new column is from Susan RoAne who teaches us “How to Work a Room.”  She gives valuable advice for those who need to learn how to mingle and meet in any setting.

We hope you enjoy The Citizen of Chesapeake.  Please tell your friends about it.  If they don’t receive it in the mail, it is available at more than 30 locations throughout the city including all Food Lion, Farm Fresh and Harris Teeter grocery stores.  It may also be viewed online at www.thecitizenofchesapeake.com.
