The Christmas Season is upon us and most all of us are busy with shopping, parties, get-togethers with neighbors, friends and families, going to special church programs and plays and hopefully taking time to do some good things for those a little less fortunate.

The Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade was a great way to kick off the holiday season.  It really is a fantastic community event that we all can be proud of.  Kudos to co-chairmen of this year’s parade, Dr. Will Langford of Great Bridge Baptist Church and attorney Anthony Draper. This year’s parade had 83 entries that included high school bands from Deep Creek, Grassfield, Hickory and Currituck, N.C.  It is estimated that more than 5,000 watched the festivities from alongside the parade route while thousands more watched the parade live on WCTV, Channel 48. Langford said, “I loved that the parade truly represents all of Chesapeake and really reflects the values of the community.”
